 Our Client, is experiencing an exciting period of growth and as such now has an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Production Planner to join their team.
 
 
Main Responsibilities
 
The Production Planner is responsible for creating and managing the weekly production plans in line with the planning requirements and restrictions of the business. This includes managing capacities to ensure orders are planned in the correct production buckets, liaising with other business function to ensure orders are confirmed to customers with correct dates and that changes, delays and issues are communicated accurately and effectively to keep productions on target and customer informed. 
Highly skilled with Excel and with experience of producing production plans using an enterprise level ERP system, the Production Planner will have a high attention to details. In particular to ensure data accuracy and be able to quickly produce information / reports to the operations management team details various aspects of the plan.
A diligent approach is necessary to conduct daily sweeps to confirm production plans are correct and complete and that requirement and materials supply dates are accurately maintained
 
 
 
Duties
 
Capacity Management
Managing Capacity on a daily basis (taking into account runners, repeaters and strangers) – For 2 sites
CTP queries – conversing with Customer Operations to investigate data anomalies
Ensuring new model introductions are accounted for by reserving capacity
Produce regular Production Plan and Order book figures for Management.
 
Planning
Producing weekly, time critical plans ensuring they are achievable based on capacity, materials availability and other business needs
Communicating the plan via various means to the wider business
Regular check to ensure that the Production plan is accurate, complete and that all related data is aligned with the plan
Creating Omitted Order reports and administering the data changes in the system
Checking for spare products which can be ‘netted back’ to avoid unnecessary production 
Ordering ad hoc urgent order and replacement products and managing them through in parallel to the main plan
 
Queries
Take ownership of and shortages to ensure they are quickly and effectively managed.
Updating the order with the details of any changes and updates such as new dates and details of the delays
Respond promptly and accurately to queries from other business functions
 
Other duties
Assisting other operations functions as required to ensure the production operation runs smoothly.
Assist with stock taking
Moving and readvising the order book when necessary
Assistance in Realigning plans when necessary Essential
 
 
Essential Skills and Experience 
 
Minimum of 5 years working in a production planner role for a manufacturing organisation
Experience of using Enterprise Scale ERP systems, Ideally Microsoft Dynamics AX2012.
Excellent Excel Skill
Excellent communications skills
Comfortable working with and manipulation big data to produce ad hoc and regular reports
Comfortable working under pressure to achieve deadline and working out of hours on occasion to support and effective factory operation. Apply now
