Job Information
Our Client, is experiencing an exciting period of growth and as such now has an excellent opportunity for an Supply Chain Assistant to join their team.The duties of the post will be, but are not restricted to:
• Chasing order due dates with suppliers and updating the company systems.
• Dealing with delivery queries for Goods in directly with the supplier, i.e., missing goods and/or paperwork and damaged items etc.
• Placing supplier orders online whilst checking for part number changes/price issues and having them approved before confirming the order.
• Emailing suppliers for prices and queries on products that we are looking to resource, or on existing lines.
• Ensuring the locations for obsolete, discontinued and substituted items are checked regularly for amending on the company system.
• Dealing with day-to-day queries from Goods in – i.e., advising if items received are changes of part numbers etc.
• Helping European suppliers with delivery documents i.e. CMRs, statements and our invoice transporter.
• Collate product data, i.e., weights, measurements, commodity codes etc.
• Day to day management of suppliers, lead times and inventory levels and manage range changes, seasonal and promotional strategies
Qualities
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills - both written and verbal in dealing with external contacts and internal personnel.
• Able to work quickly and accurately with excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload to strict deadlines and timeframes.
• A proactive person - with a desire to learn and develop both skills and experience.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent Excel and computer skills.
• Preferred background experience or knowledge of working within a purchasing department.
