JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

• Ensure parts and material are bought at the most competitive price, correct quality, lead-time and are delivered on-time for production

• Managing and controlling company’s external suppliers within business cell structure

• Develop relationships with current Suppliers and sub-contractors

• Process all sub-contract operations, ensuring swift turnaround of parts in line with business needs

• Ensure key relationships are built with internal and external stakeholders

• Implement personal savings and on-cost tracker 

• Ensure the timely return of all defective material and ensure corrective actions are put in place to prevent reoccurrence

• Assist with NSQ process, including TAT, transparency and MRP system updates

• Drive improvements in Supplier On-Time Delivery with key accounts

• Continually improve Purchasing methods ad drive down external spend

 

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be competent in all Microsoft programmes including Excel and Word

CIPS Qualification or willingness to undertake training desirable

 

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

3-5 years within a manufacturing / MRP driven environments, preferably in a regulated industry such as Aerospace, Defence, Automotive or Medical devices with a broad knowledge of bespoke manufactured parts such as Machined / Turned parts, castings, forgings, electronics including purchasing of PCB assemblies. Must have an understanding and ability to read technical drawings.
