THE POSITION

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious expert to lead our expanding Technical Advisory / Due Diligence business. You will work directly with our Corporate Development Director to build a focussed team supported by our other experts within the organisation working on all aspects of the development of renewable energy schemes, from conceptual ideas through to operational assets. Supported also by an experienced team of Directors and building on our excellent reputation and relationships. The role will be part of our strategic growth in line with unprecedented levels of activity in the renewables industry.  

The successful candidate will need to have: 
- Experience of managing and delivering technical advisory or due diligence projects is essential as is a passion to be involved in consultancy work specialising in renewable energy and energy infrastructure projects. 
- Previous experience of growing and managing a highly specialist team would be highly advantageous.

Main duties

- Grow and lead our TA/DD business through strategic planning, business development, and the management of client relationships.
- Lead the development of proposals and projects, including commercial aspects.
- Building partnerships with other industry experts and associates to leverage the company’s service offering to clients.
- Coordination of TA/DD projects and resources to ensure high quality and timelines of deliverables; and
- Line management of TA/DD staff.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Essential requirements:

- Relevant technical advisory / due diligence experience in the energy sector in the UK and Europe.
- Expertise specific to transmission and distribution networks and/or renewable energy developments/transactions for onshore and/or offshore projects.
- Proven experience of managing consulting projects under tight timelines; and
- Experience of growing, developing and leading multi-disciplinary technical teams.

Desirable requirements: 

- Electrical, Civil or Environmental post-graduate qualification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability and problem-solving abilities; and
- A drive to deliver high quality work, on time and on budget.

The role can be based in either Newcastle, Manchester or Glasgow but will include site visits and meetings throughout the UK and some travel between our other UK offices as required. Overnight stays may occasionally be necessary.
