Job Information

We are assisting an established motor trade business with the recruitment of a Compliance Officer. This is an immediate need, and they are looking to recruit ASAP.
 
Reporting into the MD, the purpose of the role is to assist in the company’s compliance duties and ensure the business meets all compliance requirements, including anti- money laundering obligations.
 
They are looking for candidates who have working knowledge of the FCA, GDPR and Money Laundering Regulations and will have gained experience working in a compliance role (ideally within retail motor industry or transferable role), and who are looking for a new challenge within a large independent motor dealership.
 
Key duties and responsibilities will include;
 
-Conduct compliance monitoring and audits of the significant business processes to provide the business with assurance on FCA regulated business areas.
-Ensure all compliance requirements are adhered to and the company is FCA compliant.
-Act as the main point of contact with the FCA and oversee key interaction and reporting to the regulator including collating data and completing filing of returns to the FCA as required.
-Act as Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for the company with responsibility for ensuring compliance with the company’s Anti-Money Laundering obligations.
-Monitor, analyse and communicate new regulatory developments and legislation that affect the business and operation of the company.
-Update all company standard form documents as and when required in accordance with regulatory changes.
-Liaise with all lender partners in ensuring all lender compliance checks are completed and maintained.
-Provide guidance/sign off on financial promotions.
-Understand and implement oversight and audit requirements in accordance with CONC, DISP, TCF, SYSC and PRIN rules.
-Develop and lead a compliance plan of action.
-To support and assist the Legal Advisor as required.
-Help to develop and create internal policies/procedures.
-Assist the directors to identify, manage and mitigate risks.
-Monitor FCA publications.
-Assisting preparing and implementing staff training programs.

For this role candidates will need to have proven Compliance experience at this level within a similar environment (ideally motor trade, although other industries will also be considered), and be confident working in a busy and fast paced role.
 
Candidates will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be proactive, able to use their initiative, hold a can-do attitude and be able to meet deadlines.
