Senior HR Advisor

Based Huddersfield (37 hours full time or 4 days p/w)
Up to £38k FTE depending on experience

We have an opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor to become an integral part of our small and busy team within a multi-site practice of professional consultants.

This is a broad and varied role where you will be able to develop your skills whilst supporting the team to deliver against the HR strategy and annual people cycle.  

Role Responsibilities

- Developing and implementing initiatives to drive retention and engagement strategies
- Providing advice and support to employees and line managers on T&Cs and ad hoc matters
- Management and development of company-wide HR and processes for the employee life cycle
- Development of the HR system (PeopleHR) to encourage employee self service and the production of MI as well as making recommendations for improvements
- Reward & Recognition
- Annual renewal of insured benefits
- Management of employee benefits via the AHR Reward Hub
- Supporting the annual salary and bonus review process
- Onboarding of employees
- Reviewing policies and procedures and updating the team and the business as required
- Contributing to ongoing HR process improvements

The ideal candidate for this role must be passionate about creating the best possible people experience, highly motivated and results orientated.  This role will suit an experienced HR generalist with strong administration, problem solving and decision-making skills who can take ownership of various work streams.

Candidate Requirements

- Strong communication skills and able to communicate at all levels.
- Lateral thinker capable of delivering imaginative, pragmatic solutions.
- Experience of delivering HR initiatives
- Strong IT competency including Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and the ability to interrogate and manage large spreadsheets
- Experience of drafting a variety of employee communications
- Excellent eye for detail and be highly organised.
- Comfortable working in a busy and fast paced role with a flexible approach to work activities
- Commitment to continuous personal development with up-to-date knowledge of best practice and developments in employment legislation and case law
- Minimum Level 5 CIPD or HR degree

Desirable experience

- HR experience will have been gained within a similar sector or professional services environment.
- Experience of delivering diversity & inclusion initiatives to raise awareness.
- Be a mental health first aider/wellbeing champion or have experience of delivering H&W initiatives.
- Have led on people processes such as salary/bonus review, benefit implementation.
- Experience of engagement activities such as employee surveys and action plans
