Purpose of the post

To strategically lead people attraction and work in partnership with key stakeholders to understand and strategically plan for current and future demand ensuring robust attraction, knowledge and succession pipelines are implemented to support people plans.

This role will work in partnership with leaders and managers to ensure people are deployed to support academy and trust improvement objectives and will play a lead role in connecting organisational people development to identified improvement areas as well as medium / long term people plans.

To take a lead in the development of a short-term staffing / cover strategy to ensure there is an effective use of resources.

Main duties and responsibilities

- Strategically lead on the development and implementation of people attraction policies, processes, and practices
- Monitor, evaluate and report on attraction, recruitment systems, procedures and practice.
- Design and oversee recruitment activity at all levels, ensuring that our recruitment methods are sector leading.
- Ensure there is an effective and agile succession plan which responds to key post replacements.
- Develop a strategy for short-term and cover requirements.
- Actively promote the trust as a place of work for prospective and current employees
- Lead on the development and deployment of apprenticeships.
- Provide regular market insights via research, events and networking. 
- Work alongside the marketing team and advertising company to take responsibility for creating an engaging brand externally and advertising on jobs boards and social media.
- Develop induction and onboarding processes to ensure that people are rewarded, recognised, and developed.
- Work in collaboration with the Business Leaders and Managers to ensure integrated solutions for continuous improvement are delivered.
- Lead on developing external partnerships with universities etc to proactively attract new people into teaching. 
- Ensure the use of jobs board and recruitment software meets strategic planning and attraction objectives.
- Support leaders and managers across the organisation to develop a strong understanding of effective attraction processes. 
- Ensure a robust training programme and quality assurance and compliance process is place in respect of safer recruitment practice and processes.
- Ensure the approach to candidate attraction demonstrates value for money.
- Provide advice and guidance on best practice in respect of permanent, temporary, and casual recruitment needs.
- Lead on the development and implementation of accurate policies and processes in line with trust core values and legislation
- Keep diversity, equity, and inclusion in the forefront throughout the recruitment process.
