Our clients are an Independent Chartered firm of Wealth Planners based in London who require a Chartered Senior Technical Consultant.

The main purpose of the role is to focus on supporting a team of client-facing Technical Consultants through the provision of training and development, systems experience and specialist technical knowledge. In addition, the role will provide ad-hoc senior technical paraplanning support to advisers and their teams, assisting them in delivering an outstanding holistic financial planning service to new and existing HNW clients who typically have complex planning needs.

Accountabilities:

    • Preparing for and attending client meetings
    • Gathering and analysing comprehensive, detailed information from client
    • Writing suitability letters
    • Preparing lifetime cashflow models, occasionally presenting in client meetings  
    • Constructing financial plans to address client’s lifetime objectives
    • Carrying out regular reviews of clients’ financial plans, circumstances and objectives
    • Engaging with intelligent, demanding clients
    • Assisting with complex technical problems and client solutions
    • Managing paraplanning templates e.g. suitability letters, reports, strategic review pack, trust guidance, research guidelines, complex calculations

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Chartered Financial Planner status with the CII

·         5+ years’ experience:

o    within the independent sector of the financial services industry

o    in a paraplanning role involving direct contact with sophisticated HNW clients

·        Experience and aptitude with a broad range of adviser support tools and software and/or the ability to learn new software quickly.

Experience in a central Paraplanning role, responsible for the delivery of support and advice/training to client-facing teams, or have a strong aspiration to do this,
Microsoft Excel user with the ability to use some intermediate or advanced features, for example Pivot Tables.
Understand the importance and benefits of lifetime cashflow modelling, with experience of Voyant as a cashflow modelling tool

Location and hybrid working: London. Office working expectations are 2-3 days per week in the office medium-term, with more office days during initial training/induction.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, office hours 9am to 5.30pm (some degree of flexibility may be possible, subject to approval).

Salary: dependent on experience, but expected to be in the region of £60-65k+. Full benefits are also available, together with a discretionary bonus scheme.
