We are assisting an established manufacturing business with the recruitment of an experienced Commercial Manager.
 
Reporting into the Commercial Director the role will have responsibility for the development, performance, and maintenance of the commercial activities for the business (8mTO), focussing on achieving maximum efficiency, service and profitability.

The role would be ideal for an experienced Sales Manager or Commercial Manager with strong sales and technical experience and ideally candidates will have manufacturing, engineering, construction or other similar technical industry experience. Key duties and responsibilities will include;
 
-Report into the Commercial Director, working as part of the senior team, managing 7 people
-Implement the company’s sales strategy and manage the annual sales budget
-Direct and manage all commercial activities including leading and monitoring the overall performance of the commercial function
-Maintain and improve processes and procedures and create a sustainable reporting structure for all commercial functions
-Manage performance by development, coaching and general support of all team members, including training, coaching, day to day management, appraisals, setting and reviewing targets
-Oversee and develop the internal and field-based sales teams teams, motivating and setting of activity plans and sales targets.
-Manage, motivate and develop account management, sales and engineering teams to deliver on sales strategies
-Oversee company order book to ensure products can be delivered to specification and on time
-Oversee implementation of marketing strategy in conjunction with group marketing and commercial director, including supporting on the devise of marketing materials (including social media) and tools to support profitable sales growth
-Develop relationships with key customers and strategic partners and identify new business opportunities to generate profitable sales growth.
-Identify key markets and understand value proposition and the customer base
-Networking with customers to develop relationships, ensure service delivery, customer satisfaction, and profitable sales growth
-Negotiating agreements for contracts with customers and ensuring commerciality including full pricing and margin responsibility (with sign off over agreed levels by the Commercial Director)
-Project manage and lead on pricing structures
-Participate in company / group projects as and when required

For this role it is essential that candidates have proven sales and commercial experience and be confident leading and managing all commercial activities for the business.
 
Strong commercial acumen is essential, with the ability to lead and manage team members and enhance performance.
