Cameron James Professional Recruitment is pleased to announce its collaboration with a prominent care home provider in the southwest, currently seeking a Financial Controller. In this pivotal role, the incumbent will report directly to the Managing Director and spearhead all financial operations for the organization, ensuring seamless financial management and contributing significantly to the company's overall success.Key responsibilities:
• support Finance Manager in preparing monthly & annual accounts to final Trial Balance stage including schedules for external auditors & provide support during annual external audit process.
• liaise with MH to ensure compliance with statutory regulations including tax compliance, review of Statutory Accounts
• manage relationships & liaise with third parties such as insurance brokers, utilities suppliers, provider of pension schemes & other service contracts
• all insurance – liaise with brokers to ensure adequate & VFM cover across group
• overview cash flow management & analysis
• budgeting & forecasting - facilitate the production of budgets, plans and forecasts to ensure affordability and balanced risk
• banking relationships – including cheque signatory
• work with the MD to prepare annual budgets and regularly update forecasts - ensure quality, reliability and seek efficiencies and future savings potential where possible
• prepare & provide ad hoc / external reporting when required by DM and other department heads
• provide expert financial support/advice to colleagues and managers to enable effective financial management
• control expenditure in line with budgets/approved expenditure by providing financial review and analysis
• ensure the reliability, accuracy and completeness of the business's financial information
• develop and maintain an effective system of internal control for safeguarding company's assets
• ability to perform balance sheet account reconciliations, Office for National Statistics returns, provide cover for all AR/AP/CM functions
• oversee the submission & payment of all tax matters ensuring compliance and timeliness

Salary and Benefits:
• Salary up to £55k
