We are working with well-established Education organisation, and they are looking for a HR Manager to join the business ASAP.
 
Reporting into the Head of HR and leading a team of 8 people; the focus of the role is to be the operational lead across the core HR functions, supporting c850 employees. This will include supporting the business through the full employee lifecycle and provide an ethos of service excellence and HR professionalism, strong operational management and to continuously improve the service and the employee journey.
 
Key duties and responsibilities will include;
 
-Report into the Head of HR and be the point of contact for all operational areas of HR for the business
-Assist and support on the effective implementation of the people strategy, and work on key HR initiatives and projects
-Ensure that HR transactional and advisory services provide a prompt, efficient and high-quality HR service
-Provide an effective and responsive range of HR services including, workforce Information, workforce Planning, recruitment, induction, employment Policy, payroll, appraisals, training, employee wellbeing, ER, change management, reward, and EDI.
-Responsibility and accountability for the operational planning and organisation, management and day to day running of the HR operations.
-In conjunction with the Head of Human Resources provide professional support and direction to enhance a culture of employee engagement.
-Provide direction to HR staff, setting and maintaining professional standards of policy and practice to ensure that HR functions are delivered efficiently and directly underpin the organisations strategic & HR objectives.
-Provide leadership, direction, and development to the HR team on escalated ER cases, including managing complex HR operational activities and an ER caseload.
-Maintaining, developing, and building relations with trade unions
-Provide support and training to managers on developing their people management skills
-Ensure that all required KPI’s, reports and people metrics are provided in a timely manner
-Ensure the HR Team leads in the implementation and delivery of a high performing culture and that the systems and processes are in place to deliver this.
-Ensure full compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
-Responsible for the information and interface between HR and payroll, ensuring appropriate authorisation for changes in data which affects pay and terms and conditions.

For this role candidates will need to have proven experience at this level, and ideally be CIPD Level 7 Qualified. It would be advantageous to have previous education industry experience, or similar experience within a government or regulated environment with trade unions.
 
This is a fast-paced role, where you will be expected to provide a professional and high-level HR service to stakeholders. Candidates must be proactive, hold strong communication and interpersonal skills, have proven leadership skills and work to a high level of accuracy.
