Our client is a leading Chartered Independent Insurance Broker who has been trading for over 20 years who are now looking for an Experience Commercial broker who has Management Experience to lead a Team of Internal New Business Development Brokers.
Key responsibilities:
Working alongside the Directors of the Business you will have responsibility for the day-to-day responsibility for the Commercial/ SME New Business Team point of contact for enquiries and Management of the Team
You will be required to
• Log, prioritize and distribute incoming new business enquiries to the new business team.
• To manage, motivate, mentor, support and develop the team by the effective management of behaviour, working practices, communication, performance appraisal, training and recruitment activities.
• Follow placement strategy within parameters of delegated authority schemes and provide support to sales staff in the assessment of client’s requirements and exposures and offer recommendation of insurer’s products to assist in risk placement.
• Respond to incoming new business enquiries and allocating new opportunities to the correct people in the team
• Handle technical, sales or insurers referral from the team to ensure blockers are managed. Auditing telephone calls, demands and needs, quotations and policy documents. Delivering improvement focussed feedback
• Provide structured new starter training and coaching on sales, sector knowledge, products and systems. Additionally, to provide constant training to the whole team where needed.
• Completion of CPD hours for the whole team
Requirements
• Working knowledge of commercial/charity lines of insurance (liability, property, financial lines, motor).
• A full understanding and sufficient exposure in the subject matter. Able to assist less experienced team members with referrals, training and supervising.
• Knowledge of IDD ( Insurance Distribution Directive)
• Sales team management experience
• Commitment to achieve Diploma in Insurance (CII)
• Role model of cultural values (positive, reliable and honourable)
• Charity sector knowledge and charity insurance market knowledge
• Organisational skills, time management and able to make sound insurance decisions
