My client is a well-established services based company within the energy sector and they are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the business.

Reporting into the FC the role will be responsible for a team of 3 people and will involve both management and financial accounting. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

-Preparing and finalise statutory accounts, Prepare the monthly and quarterly board pack- providing commentary and interpretation of results
-Provide and update KPI's, providing analysis and reports on the accounts and any variances
-Budgeting and Forecasting
-Assist with the 5 year business plans
-Business planning and modelling
-Analysis of accounts for commercial and operations teams- margins, performance, contracts ect
-Preparing journals, accruals and prepayments
-Tax analysis, preparation of VAT, Intrastat, CIS and P11d's
-Ensure compliance with statutory and tax regulations
-Manage a team of 3 accounts clerks- overseeing purchase and sales ledger, credit control and treasury
-Cash management- bank reconciliation, cashbook maintenance, petty cash and managing company credit cards
-Ensure that best practice is followed and improving internal controls

For this role candidates will ideally be fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA and have proven experience working in a similar role.

Candidates must have strong technical accounting experience and in addition to providing detailed analysis and reporting, be confident interpreting the accounts. Candidates must have strong communication skills and be confident dealing with managers across the business.

It is essential that candidates have strong analysis experience and have excellent MS Excel skills.
