I am currently recruiting for a Corporate Responsibility Officer to join a prestigious professional service organisation in London.

The Global Corporate Responsibility (CR) team is a small team and provides exposure to a wide range of initiatives including, but not limited to, strategy implementation, measurement, reporting and assurance, stakeholder engagement, social impact measurement.

This role represents an opportunity to work in a global context, influencing and supporting progress across the organisation’s network. There is a vast range of CR maturity across the network some who will require a significant amount of support and guidance and others who will provide an excellent network of peers and best practice to draw on. Your ability to adapt your approach to suit these different circumstances is critical.

The role will be responsible for supporting the CR team’s activities in the areas of responsible business, community engagement and environmental stewardship as well as managing the journey towards assurance of CR data.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a similar position and hold a degree in Sustainability, Development Economics or Equivalent.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supporting the year end reporting process, including:
• Ensuring that reporting tools are prepared and that all firms are aware of their reporting responsibilities.
• Following up on territories that have missed deadlines.
• Critical review of reported data, correction of data errors and consolidation of Network figures.
• Development, delivery, and continuous improvement, of quantitative and qualitative performance information for internal and external reporting (e.g. Global Annual Review, CR website).
• Preparing materials for annual one to one reporting sessions with local CR leaders to support ongoing improvement in reporting and assurance.
• Developing and delivering training webinars on a range of CR topics.
• Ongoing support and advice to the CR network (being a help desk for territories) building relationships and liaising with a range of colleagues.
• Support the evolution of the Network’s reporting strategy in collaboration with colleagues from leading territories and subject matter experts.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential skills

• Experience of CR measurement and reporting and assurance.
• A degree in Sustainability, Development Economics or Equivalent.
• Experience of a similar role in a global organisation (as a consultant or similar client engagements).
• Strong diplomacy, political and cultural sensitivity skills in order to deal effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent people skills to establish credibility and interact effectively with colleagues across the network.
• Strong analytical skills including excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work successfully independently (e.g. proven ability to deliver with limited day to day supervision).
• A flexible approach and can-do attitude to work within a small multi-tasking team and to meet the challenges of supporting a global business.
• Some project management/stakeholder management skills managing multiple projects
• Competent in business writing , good ability to write in concise and clear English.

Desirable

• Some understanding of community investment and social impact measurement methodologies.
• Experience in sustainable social and economic development / management of corporate social investment initiatives.
• Experience of stakeholder engagement and reporting.
• Experience of supply chain management.
• Some knowledge of management information systems.
