Purchasing Manager : Commercial Construction

Our client is a rapidly expanding Building and Engineering company. Due to the doubling in size, year on year, they are now seeking a professional purchasing person to manage the procurement function in a buy to order, project environment.

The commercial construction sector is highly competitive and price sensitive, so we are looking for applicants who can demonstrate a robust, no nonsense approach to buying and supplier dealings.

Reporting to the Financial Director, you will be accountability for a yearly spend of £6m+ and the whole sourcing, negotiating and managing function for the business for some 300 suppliers, based all over the UK. This will include direct and indirect spend.

Key Criteria

• Demonstrable experience within the commercial construction sector
• Be able to read architectural drawings and understand from drainage schematics, what items and services will be required
• Experience of managing sizeable multi million pound budgets
• CIPS qualification would be advantageous
