Cameron James are dealing with a confidential position in North Yorkshire for a client who is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team. They operate in industry in the engineering sector and would be ideally looking for someone from this field although non essential.

The Role:

• Dealing with all monthly and weekly payroll including new starters, leavers, mat/pat leave, pensions, HMRC returns
• Actively managing purchase ledger on a daily basis
• Matching, batching and coding invoices
• Bank reconciliations
• Producing invoices and delivery notes
• Year end responsibilities including WIP, stock analysis and schedule valuations
• Creation of nominal ledger, assist in trial balances and balance sheets
• Covering Sales Ledger and Credit Control when employees are absent




The Candidate:

• Diverse experience in Accountancy
• Essential experience within Payroll and Purchase Ledger
• Actively studying towards CIMA or ACCA is preferred
• Proven background in a busy accounts team and experience of nominal ledger and payroll is essential
• Excellent IT skills including the manipulation and formatting of Excel spreadsheets
• Double entry bookkeeping and trial balance skills are essential
• Ability to work in a diverse environment and work under own initiative
