Location: Exeter
Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an additional Buyer to complement the existing purchasing team for our client.
Already a global manufacturer and distributor, they are renowned for their dynamic business culture and focus on product quality and customer satisfaction.
The Role:
• You will be responsible for all direct component purchases and in some cases indirect services.
• Accountable for the identification, assessment, introduction and development of competitive new suppliers, in all cases quality must be assured.
• Coordinate and manage all purchasing across the specific range of products. (Each Buyer is responsible for set products and suppliers).
• In conjunction with the NPD Team, work on new product ideas and concepts, with specific responsibility for the negotiation and purchasing agreements, including packaging, labels, instructions, deliveries scheduling and payment terms.
• Ensuring continual supply of all component parts, enabling the sales and production targets to be met. This will include effective stock management.
• Responsible for the expediting of all purchase orders, ensuring all delivery dates are adhered to.
• Responsible for the monitoring of supplier delivery performance.
• KPI performance on cost saving, supplier performances are deemed important.
We are seeking candidates with the following experience:
• Evidence of purchasing aesthetically pleasing products/components, ideally from globally located suppliers.
• Proven track record of working within a new product development team.
• Proven track record of purchasing services and supplies.
• Proven track record of supplier auditing.
• Experience of working to ISO standards would be a distinct advantage.
• Experience of managing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Evidence of influencing senior management and directors.
• Ability to travel independently and frequently, as business travel is essential in the role.
