My client is currently recruiting for an urgent Head of Finance position based in Leeds City Centre : just a 5 minute walk from the train station.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within the public sector

The role will be leading a team of 10, with 3 direct reports and you will be responsible for providing strong financial governance and leading the team in supporting and enabling the organisations objectives.

Duties include:

• Ensuring financial and budgetary systems and process are effective and implementing changes if necessary to improve performance
• Manage all aspects of the business activities ensuring financial procedures are produced and adhered to
• Providing advice on projects, loans and grants as required
• Delivering the objectives on finance to support the company
• Working with senior managers to provide strategic financial input into reports and decisions
• Providing commercial insight and advice on project and investment decisions
• Assisting with developing financial and budgetary plans and understanding their plans and impacts on income and expenditure
• Direct and motivate the team to produce the annual budget
• Ensuring budgets and planning is in accordance with business planning process
• Leading the team to produce annual accounts in accordance with legislation and set deadlines
• Tax and VAT Compliant
• Timely and accurate reporting on revenue and capital budgets and financial monitoring
• Setting and monitoring financial KPIs for the team
• Providing advice and support to board and its committees

Key skills:

• Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
• Experience working in a similar environment
• Commercial experience

Offering competitive salary of c£58k + benefits including flexitime, 28 days holidays and other incentives. Ideally looking for someone immediately available but will still consider those on notice
