We are working with a leading logistics business and they are recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor / HR Generalist to join the business.

The role is to start immediately and is initially for a 1 year fixed contract - it may be extended. For this role candidates will need to be immediately available or on maximum 1 weeks’ notice.

Working as part of the regional HR team, this role will be responsible for one of the large business units - around 600 employees. The main focus of the role will be to provide a HR Advisory service to the business. Strong ER experience is required, and ideally candidates will have experience providing HR services to a mainly blue collar workforce. Key duties will include;

•Working as part of a regional HR team (7 people), sole responsibility for 1 business unit - c600 employees.
•Generalist HR position to include; ER, HR Advise to managers and employees, Recruitment, HR Projects, Updating HR policies and procedures, HR administration - full employee life cycle work
•Provide advice and support to the management team and employees on HR queries and policies
•Keep upto date and advise on matters in line with UK Employment law
•Support and coach managers on ER issues including sickness and absenteeism, performance management, grievances and disciplinaries.
•Advise, Lead and Action on complex ER cases, taking the lead on hearings, appeals and grievance meeting. This will include reporting on outcomes, acting as a mediator and facilitating meetings
•Conduct research on ER matters to develop and recommend appropriate solutions to individual employee issues.
•Involves in the recruitment process for the senior management team - provide advice and practical support in all stages of the recruitment & selection processes
•Provide support and guidance on HR best-practice and make recommendations for management
•Review, develop and recommend changes to existing HR policies & procedures, manuals and initiatives
•Participate in the development & delivery of local HR related training courses.
•Involved on HR projects and workforce initiatives

For this role is it is essential that candidates have experience working at this level, are able to work independently in a standalone capacity and are ideally CIPD Qualified (or actively studying towards this).

It is essential that candidates have strong ER experience and are used to dealing with and advising on complex cases.

There will be some travel with the role, so it is essential that candidates have a UK Driving license (company car will be provided).
