We are working with a well-established Architectural consultancy firm based in South East London and they are recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor to join the business for a 1 year maternity contract.

This is to start ASAP, so ideally candidates will be immediate or on a short notice period. However they will consider candidates on 1 month notice period, if they have the desired experience.

Reporting into the HR Director and working as part of a team of 3 people in HR, the role will have main responsibility for the day to day operations of the HR function to the business. This is a true generalist HR position and covers all aspects of the employee life cycle including, ER, Recruitment, L&D, HR Best Practice, HR Advisory service to the business and HR Administration. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

• Working as part of a team of 3 people, providing HR services to around 300 employees across multiple sites across the UK
• Overseeing and supporting the HR Administrator
• Providing coaching, advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of ER; Performance management support, Disciplinary and Grievance meetings, Absenteeism and Sickness etc.
• Dealing with all aspects of recruitment - dealing with agencies, reviewing CV and shortlisting candidates, organising interviews, managing offers, reference and the induction process
• Learning and development initiatives, organising training and courses for all employees
• Overseeing HR Administration and assisting when required - HR reports for the board, starters / leavers etc.
• Payroll lead - monthly calls with finance and providing payroll information for salary changes, promotions, annual leave calculations etc.
• Updating and reviewing HR policies and procedures, staff handbooks, advice around UK Employment law and supporting the business with any HR queries
• Pensions and Maternity administration

For this role candidates must have proven experience working at this level and have solid generalist HR experience. Ideally studying or qualified CIPD.

Candidates must have strong communication skills and be confident liaising with managers across the business. They will be some travel to other offices when required, although this is on an ad-hoc basis.
