We are working with a well established business in the educational sector and they are looking for an experienced ER Advisor to join the business.

This role would be ideal for a proven HR Advisor / HR Assistant with an interest and good level of experience within Employee Relations. The company provides great scope to develop and progress and in addition to ER, the role will also have involvement with Training and Recruitment.

Reporting into the HR Business Partner and working as part of a team of 10 - the main focus of the role will be to provide support, coaching and guidance to the business on all matters of ER (2000 employees in the business). Key duties and responsibilities will include;

• Provide HR advice and support relating to employee relation issues including sitting on discipline and grievance panels, preparing and conducting investigation meetings and provide guidance and support to seniors, deputies and setting managers in completing quality management statements for disciplinary meetings.
• Coaching and advising managers across the business on all ER issues - grievances, disciplinaries, performance management, sickness, lateness ect.
• Provide HR advice, guidance and support relating to capability and absence issues, in line with employment law requirements, through all stages of the process
• Involvement in the recruitment process for the sites - part of the short-listing and interview panel for setting recruitment.
• Assist with coaching and delivering training on policies and good employment practices to setting managers.
• Support the development of setting recruitment practice to support the recruitment of high quality staff, in line with employment law requirements.
• Investigate and offer solutions to reduce the number of setting employee relations issues.

For this role candidates will be CIPD Qualified (Level 5) and have proven HR experience - with focus and knowledge with all aspects of ER.

Candidates will need to have excellent knowledge of the ER processors and be confident supporting managers across the business - mainly remotely but also attending meetings. There is some travel with the role - around 3-4 times per month, depending on the volume of cases.

Excellent communication skills and a confident approach are essential, in addition to sound written and verbal skills - as you will be checking and advising on cases.
