THE COMPANY

My client, a successful growing retail distribution company based near Bury are looking to bring a seasoned Senior Accounts Clerk with weekly Payroll experience into their team due to the expansion of the finance team. Finishing early on a Friday, and a great starting pay, this is a very desired position.

WHAT YOU'LL BE EXPECTED TO DO

To perform accounting clerical duties and ensure accuracy of financial reports, reconciling receivable accounts, ensuring prompt payment of invoices. You will also use accounting software programs to process business transactions, calculate weekly overtime and process a small weekly payroll.

• Processing Time & Attendance software : calculation of overtime hours
• Process of weekly payroll for approximately 10 members of staff
• Maintain sickness records for SSP purposes
• Timely and effective collection of all debts and customer payments
• Processing and generating reminder letters and monthly statements
• Investigating and resolving queries relating to outstanding invoices
• Liaising with EU Sales representatives regarding customer accounts
• Posting of foreign currency receipts on sales ledger
• Posting cash book transactions
• Assisting Financial Director with monthly and annual accounts
• Maintaining cash books and performing bank reconciliations

WHAT IS NEEDED FROM YOU

• AAT Qualification would be desirable
• Experience in Sage software including Sage Payroll would be hugely beneficial
• understanding of Accountancy procedures
• Great IT skills i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook
