We are exclusively working with a well-established and growing infrastructure business, who are recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor to join the business.

Reporting into the Head of HR, the role will have responsibility for providing full HR support and HR advisory services to one of their business units - around 800 employees.

The position is based in London, but will have regular travel to Rugby (2 or 3 days per week depending on business requirements), so candidates need to be able to commit to this. The journey from London to Rugby is c50 minutes on the train, so overnight stays are not necessary, unless preferred.

Working as part of a large London based HR team, the role offers great opportunity to develop ad progress within the organisation. The role is a generalist position, although will be ER focused, so candidates will need to have strong ER knowledge and exposure. Key duties will include;

• Working as part of a team of 3, providing HR support to 800 employees
• Supporting the Business Unit on all areas of ER and managing a high volume caseload (50-85 ER cases)
• Attend on-site meetings to provide HR support to the business (2 or 3 times per week)
• Provide advice on issues such as attendance, long term absenteeism, capability issues, performance management, grievances and disciplinary
• Providing coaching and support to managers on day to day ER matters
• Managing ER cases from start to finish; chairing and leading meetings, running investigations, appeals and outcome letters etc.
• Develop and co-ordinate Company policies and procedures and keeping up to date with employment law to ensure that any advice given is accurate and relevant
• Develop and implement Training and L&D initiatives to enable managers to upskill their knowledge and ability to deal with ER matters in the business unit
• Provide generalist HR support to the business unit across all areas of the employee lifecycle
• Support the Head of HR with HR projects and initiatives



For this role candidates will need to have proven HR Advisory experience and have strong knowledge of ER. CIPD Qualification is desired but not essential.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be communicating across the business unit to both employees and senior management.
