An exceptional opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join a busy finance team within an education establishment based in Shipley has arisen. The role is working 30 hours per week. The payroll officer would have shared responsibility to ensure accurate and timely payments are made for a payroll of 300 staff.

The main duties of the Payroll Officer will include:

• Working closely with the finance manager to effectively manage payroll deadlines
• Processing new starters / leavers, any changes to the standard data
• Calculating statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP
• Maintain sickness records and liaise with HR as appropriate
• Complete pension records, recording changes
• Ensuring all monthly payments and data submissions are correctly made to HMRC
• Query resolution
• Ensure compliance with Auto Enrolment and re-enrolment requirements
• Maintain files and records in accordance with audit requirements and the Data Protection Act
• Support HR in issuing contracts of employment and supporting documentation
• Support line managers with the probationary period for new staff

For this role it is essential that you have at least 3 years` experience within a payroll processing position and experience of administration of pension records. A minimum education of GCSEs grades A-C in Maths and English (or Equivalent) are required.
