My client is a large FMCG company based in Hull who are looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team. They are renowned for the quality and unrivalled expertise in their sector. They are highly regarded by both their customers and partners alike. The financial accountant will sit within the finance team and report directly to the Financial Controller.

The duties of the Financial Accountant will include:

• Reconciliation of both customer accounts and client accounts
• Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Quarterly VAT Returns
• Work with the Management Accountant to produce Month End / Quarter End and Year End reports
• Maintain spreadsheets for bank accounts and reconcile to relevant customer statements
• Payments and prepayments
• Produce management reports

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a busy finance department as a financial accountant. It is vital that you have a proactive outlook and have the ability to work alone using own initiative while maintaining a high degree of accuracy attention to detail. You will be required to work with the Financial Controller and Management Accountant and at times cross skill with their workloads to ensure the smooth running of the department.

As a financial accountant you must have experience of using Sage accounting software and have excellent MS package skills : specifically Excel. It is essential to have a good background in a similar role, and experience of working within a FMCG company would be advantageous.
