An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established SME based in central London as their Head of Finance / Financial Controller / Financial Director. The company has a busy finance department and are looking for a hardworking, efficient and experienced Financial Controller or Financial director who is looking a progressive role where they can take full ownership of the finance department. The company have a £5million annual turnover.

The duties of the Head of Finance will include:

• Responsibility for Statutory and Year end accounting, including Companies house annual returns
• Preparation of the management pack, preparing analysis and drill down on the P&L, Balance sheet, Accruals and prepayments
• Attending meetings with board of directors and representing finance
• Management accounts consolidation for all companies
• Budgeting and Cash flow forecasting
• Produce management accounts pack for presentation to the board
• Payroll
• HMRC and Pensions submissions
• VAT and ECSL returns
• Recharge reconciliation and invoicing
• Auditing : multiple companies
• Management of 1 member of staff

For this role candidates must have proven experience at this level and be comfortable managing the finance function, reporting into senior Directors.

The ideal Head of Finance will have a logical and methodical approach to their work load with a proactive and self-motivated attitude. Experience of working within a regulated environment is advantageous due to the nature of the company. You must be a strong character who isn`t afraid to challenge and push boundaries to create better processes.

As a Head of Finance it is essential that you have previous experience of both financial and management accounting and have a proven record of team management in previous roles. The ideal candidate will be someone who can step into this role with very little guidance and will have a high level of experience.

It is vital that you have excellent Excel skills and have previously used Sage accounting software. You will also be either ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified although qualified by experience would be considered.
