Job Information

We are currently assisting a reputable college and educational body recruit for an experienced HR Manager. The role will report into the HR Director and work as a team of 4 within HR.

The focus of the role will be to provide generalist HR support to c300 employees and will also have emphasis on Learning & Development and ER. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

ER

• Managing employee relation cases to ensure that they meet best practice/employment legislation.
• Advise and manage on employee relation cases and ensure that they meet best practice and employment legislation
• Provide appropriate advice to managers on all areas of ER
• Assist with the annual performance management process; ensuring documentation is returned and logged in line with the procedural timelines and reports produced, working with other HR staff.

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT

• Co-ordination and administration of a range of learning and development activities and projects, as well as ensuring the development and maintenance of robust learning and development systems and processes.
• Develop and deliver training/coaching alongside other HR staff in line with the business needs of the College.
• Produce relevant learning and development strategies, policies and procedures
• Lead on the production of annual learning and development programme.
• Assist the Director of HR to manage the learning and development budget.
• Lead on the booking of training courses and ensuring that an appropriate evaluation process is in place which is regularly reviewed.
• Update and maintain the learning and development calendar.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with external providers of learning solutions.
• Manage the apprenticeship process.

GENERALIST

• Working as part of a team of 4 within HR, providing support and guidance to junior members of the team
• Produce reports, statistics and other management information to support the College`s strategic, business operations and policies and procedures.
• Manage and co-ordinate HR projects on behalf of the Director of HR.
• Assist with the College`s recognition award scheme.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the College
• Assist with the inputting of data and maintenance of all HR systems.
• Assist with general HR administration as and when necessary.

For this role candidates will ideally be CIPD Qualified and have proven experience at this level. It would be advantageous to have education or similar industry experience, although not essential.

In addition to generalist HR experience, candidates will need to have solid experience within L&D and ER and be confident working in a busy and fast paced environment.
