I have currently partnered with a leading organisation based in the centre of Manchester, looking for a HR and Payroll officer. The main duties of this role will be helping with the strategic payroll and also support the HR assistants in day to day HR queries. This role is perfect for someone who has a lot of Payroll experience and wants to take a more strategic move. This role will also incorporate managerial skills and you will sit between the HR manager and the HR assistants.

Main Duties:

Payroll

• Collect daily, weekly or monthly timesheets
• Calculate bonuses and allowances
• Prepare employees` compensation by the end of each month using payroll software
• Schedule bank payments or hand out paychecks directly to employees
• Distribute payment statements and gather signed receipts (digital or paper)
• Report on payroll expenses

HR

• working closely with various departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures
• promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation
• liaising with a range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety
• recruiting staff, which involves developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates
• developing and implementing policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management
