An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Client Account Executive specialising in commercial real estate (property owners and ancillary lines) to join our client, a highly successful, specialist, independent, chartered insurance broking firm in the heart of the West End of London.
The position is an interesting combination of the following roles:

• client facing account management and administration;
• placing broker; and
• claims coordination.

1. A strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance, in particular real estate;

4. Experience of dealing with and selling to real estate owners and their professional teams;
5. Knowledge and experience of principal underwriting markets;

7. CII qualified, preferably with property specialisation; 1. 8. Competent with Microsoft and broker management software applications (Open GI an advantage);Good telephone manner;

Operational Functions

1. To ensure that new and existing clients and their advisors receive excellent insurance advice, service and cover by:

• Advising clients on the correct structure of their insurance arrangements;

• Taking instructions from clients and arranging/confirming suitable cover;
• Liaising and negotiating with insurers;
• Handling clients` insurance policy documentation (i.e. preparing policy renewals, mid-term endorsements and invoices using the Open GI broker management system);
• Advising on ad hoc, mid-term enquiries and issues, for example, on the extent and application of cover;
• Advising clients following claims incidents and processing their claims i.e. issuing claims forms, instructing loss adjusters and/or insurers as necessary and writing appropriate confirmations (claims will predominantly involve damage to buildings and contents, but incidents relating to property owners` liability, employers` liability, etc may also arise);
• Assisting clients with respect to the insurance aspects of their funding / refinancing agreements; and
• Maintenance of client profiles and risk registers.

1. On an on-going basis and, in particular, prior to clients` renewals:

• Liaison with clients to review the existing sums insured, occupancies, activities, property acquisitions and disposals, limits and scope of cover;
• Co-ordinate/collect underwriting/renewal information and preparation of renewal presentation to insurers;
• Negotiate best possible premium and terms, enhancements to cover and limits, and any additional covers as appropriate;
• Manage underwriting tenders as and when required;
• Obtain renewal instructions from client and confirm cover to insurers and client.



This function includes coordinating and administering the annual renewal of Grosvenor`s global corporate liability / operational insurance programme which consists of Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Directors` & Officers` Liability, Crime and other ancillary classes of business.
