We are working with a well-established Retail business and they are recruiting for a HR officer to join their busy Head Office team.

Reporting into the Head of HR the main focus of the role will be to provide day to day operational HR support to the business. This will incorporate a comprehensive HR service including; ER, HR best practice, coaching and advising on HR policies and procedures, managing recruitment and working on various HR projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for HR professionals, who are looking to develop their experience and are keen to take on more responsibility, as you will be working closely with the HR Director on all areas of HR. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

• Provide an efficient and professional HR service to c350 employees across various UK sites
• Working as part of a team of 4 people in HR, reporting into the Head of HR
• Generalist HR duties including ER, Recruitment, HR best practice and projects work
• Supporting the business with all areas of ER, from advice and guidance on day to day matters, to attending disciplinary and grievance meetings
• Coaching managers in staffing issues, Absence management responsibility
• Managing the recruitment process across the business; support recruitment, creation of JDs, placing job adverts, assisting in interviews, job offers
• Support change management activities and drive continuous improvement
• Analysis of HR management information
• Annual employee engagement survey
• Involvement in introduction of new HR policies and procedures and benefits
• Involvement in creation of training plan and skills matrix
• Provide cover for Payroll Administrator as required
• HR project work as required

For this role candidates will need to have HR experience at this level and hold generalist HR experience. CIPD Qualification would be ideal, although this is not essential.

Retail, Distribution, Manufacturing experience would be useful, although HR candidates with the right level of experience from all backgrounds will be considered.
