Assistant Underwriter

Harrogate

Salary- up to £23k

A leading Underwriters are now looking to add an Assistant Underwriter to their growing dynamic team based in Harrogate. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who has a minimum of six to twelve months experience in general insurance and is looking to focus their career in an Underwriting role.

You will build and maintain relationships with clients over the phone, providing excellent customer service at all times. You will work as a member of a small team and be pro-active and willing to help brokers across all classes of business.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to our brokers, prioritising renewals and mid-term adjustments and referrals
• Ensure incoming calls to the team are answered promptly and professionally
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the Technical teams in Harrogate and the wider business
• Manage renewal cases working as appropriate with the broker to secure renewal and upsell/cross-sell additional covers

Experience

• Have a minimum of 6/12 months insurance experience
• Have excellent negotiation skills and a clear customer focus
• Be able to work in highly pressurised environment dealing with a large volume of calls and emails
