Job Information

My Client is a highly successful small IFA Firm based in Coventry City Centre. They require an experienced Paraplanner to come on board who can hit the ground running.

In return you will receive a salary up to £35,000, the working hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 : 17:00

Duties Include:

New Business

• Checking the Advisers ‘Fact Finding` and ‘Know your Client` for completeness and clarifying where required
• Inputting Attitude to Risk assessments
• Obtaining State Pension Forecasts
• Sending Letter of Authorities and obtaining full plan information
• Product research (Selecta Pension, IRESS)
• Fund research (Morningstar)
• Preparing Transfer Value Comparator`s (TVC) for Defined Benefit Transfers (formerly TVAS) (Selecta Pension)
• Cash Flow Models (Selecta Pension)
• Suitability Report Writing (Paraplanning Online to build basic template, and then significant top and tailing)
• Overall file completeness checking
• Submitting applications to product providers and following through until completion
• Updating back office system (Praemium [Plum])

Ongoing Reviews

• Maintaining ongoing review diary and ensuring client reviews are updated
• Sending ongoing review invitations each month
• Preparing client review packs (to include; valuations, performance, charges, Fact Finds, Attitude to Risk questionnaires, Disclosure Documents etc.)
• Preparing a ‘Review Conclusion Letter` confirming the advice following client meetings with the Adviser

Additional

• Looking after ongoing service of clients (such as income withdrawals, changes to addresses, plan alterations)
• Where time permits, we would expect the candidate to add value to the business by sourcing potential new business through orphan clients or similar
• General office duties to include taking phone calls, post handling, scanning, incoming & outgoing post etc.

Regulation

• Maintaining own CPD as required
• Working to prescribed procedures and T&C Plan

Compliance
(compliance function may be retained by existing Office Manager, but thought I`d include it here, so that we can identify any candidates that may have these skills in exchange for some new business skills)

• Complaint handling
• Compliance diary management, to include reviewing and implementing plans and procedures at regular intervals or as required (eg. Governance Plan, T&C Plan, Anti-Money Laundering, Complaints, TCF)
• Gathering and reviewing Management Information with the Director
• Reading Paradigm (compliance consultants) and FCA updates and recommending any necessary changes to internal procedures
• Compiling file reviews to be sent to compliance consultants
• Preparing GABRIEL return for review by Director
