A major UK distribution company are looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant, this is a new position brought on by ongoing growth and a restructure of the finance team. They are privately owned and are the market leaders in their field with a £70 million turnover. Based in beautiful offices in North Yorkshire you will be reporting to the Financial Controller, and be a key part in a small finance team.

As this is a new role the main responsibilities will develop once you begin in the role but initially key aspects will be:

• Assisting the F.C with month end preparation
• Running the purchase ledger
• Preparing monthly accruals on purchases (i.e goods received but not yet invoiced)
• Preparing monthly payment runs of £7 million per month
• Bank Reconciliations
• Monthly Intrastat VAT Returns
• Ad hoc support to the F.C

Management duties will include the development of team members, performance management and sharing of knowledge and expertise to improve the overall efficacy of the team and its processes.

Essential criteria;

• AAT Level 4 or early stages of ACCA/CIMA
• Experience in a similar role
• Strong Purchase Ledger experience
• Highly accurate due to large sums involved
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills

Desirable criteria;

• Dealing with foreign currency
• Intrastat VAT knowledge
• Experience in a similar industry with high value stock
