We are currently working with a well-established and reputable Broker in Milton Keynes.

Our client currently has a vacancy for an enthusiastic Compliance & Data Protection Officer, joining them on a temporary basis. Whilst this is initially a 9 month appointment, there is potential to extend your contract to 12 months or beyond if required.

Your role will be to support the Head of Compliance as maternity cover for our clients current Data Protection Officer covering all things data protection with a small element of compliance.

You will be responsible for a wide and varied range of duties whilst you provide a comprehensive compliance & data protection service, including supporting our client in the following areas:

• Providing advice and guidance to colleagues
• Management of incidents and maintaining non-compliance logs
• Assisting with a range of projects, including data protection impact assessments
• Completion of compliance and Data Protection audits
• Management of annual policy reviews
• Responding to a variety of Data Protection and compliance queries
• Assisting with site visits and audits for Appointed Representatives and partners

There will be some travel required within the role which could include overnight stays as although their compliance team are primarily based in Milton Keynes, they support the entire business across each of their locations.

• A solid understanding of data protection and relevant legislation
• Good organisational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Remaining calm when dealing with demanding behaviour or circumstances
• Ability to deal sensitively and diplomatically with a range of people
• Good communication skills at all levels
• Ability to multi-task
• IT competency in a variety of software packages
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent telephone manner
• Experience in protection is desirable

This role will be ideal for anyone who has recently achieved a Data Protection Practitioner Certificate or similar, or who has experience of the following: Data Protection Assistant, Data Protection Administrator, Data Protection Coordinator, Data Protection Adviser, Data Protection Support Officer, GDPR Assistant, GDPR Administrator, GDPR Co-ordinator, GDPR Adviser etc.
