We are working with a well-established distribution / logistics business and they are recruiting for a HR Manager to join the business.

This role would be ideal for either a current HR Manager or alternatively an experienced HR Advisor looking for the next step in their career. This is an immediate need and candidates will ideally be immediate or up to 1 month.

The role will be responsible for the HR operations of the site, c550 employees and will oversee 1 HR Administrator and will encompass a generalist HR role. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

• Provide a high quality and commercially focused generalist HR service
• Maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of employment law and HR best practice to ensure advice and guidance is both accurate and up-to-date
• Ensure that stakeholders are appropriately updated on new employment legislation and good practices are implemented within the region
• Support, develop and coach people managers to manage ER issues using the policies, procedures and best practice
• Act as first line of contact in HR for any ER issues with the designated region
• Responsible for developing effective working relationships whilst working cross functionally to deliver the business objectives
• Support the management of employee absence in line with the agreed policy and processes
• Ensure all cases are dealt with in a timely manner
• Provide guidance and support regarding statutory policies
• Support line managers with the recruitment process
• Support the managers in positively managing performance and conduct of employees
• Ensure all appropriate policies, procedures and legal requirements are adhered to with clear audit trails and maintain all personnel records in accordance with GDPR
• Oversee the HR administrator and assist with when necessary

For this role candidates will need to hold experience within a similar industry - logistics, manufacturing etc., supporting a blue collar workforce. Union experience would be desirable although not essential.

Ideally CIPD qualified but this is not essential - having relevant HR and industry experience is the most important factor.
