Job Information

We are working with an established global business and they are recruiting for a Head of Bids & Proposals to join the senior team.

This role would be ideal for an experienced Bid Manager who holds experience in B2B across both public and private sectors. Responsible for leading and managing an established team, you will work with various companies from SME through to large blue chip corporates on a range of products and services. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

• Oversee and manage the bid team, including managing, mentoring, training and guidance, conducting appraisals, goal setting, validating quality of submissions etc
• Develop and maintain bid management processes and ensure submission of bids in accordance with defined deadlines
• Maintain the tender bid log, providing insight and key statistics to relevant stakeholders as required
• Analysis of lost and no bid reasons informing Product and Sales Management heads
• Identify opportunity and risk of each individual bid, including identify clearly and concisely the main points of the bid requirement, including Contractual, Information Security, Financial, Commercial requirements
• Responsible for the management of the bid handling process to ensure delivery of compliant and competitive proposals on time, and to ensure efficient processing of contracts;
• Provide bid/no bid recommendations to the sales team including reasons behind recommendation;
• Manage and lead the tendering effort on each assigned tender from receipt through to contract award or loss
• Prepare concise and responsive tender documents on each tender in response to all required client information
• Ensure win strategy is clear and understood in all bids, including those coordinated by the team;
• Manage resource planning and cost for assigned tenders;
• Provide tender follow-up and negotiations, in conjunction with the department`s management team;
• Provide expert knowledge on all public sector Frameworks to the wider Sales team
• Provide support to the sales function for any non-standard, bid proposal requirements

Candidates will need to hold strong Bid Management experience at this level and have experience working for a global organisation.

Strong communication skills, confidence in delivering presentations and producing proposals is essential, in addition to being able to lead and develop an effective team.
