Working in partnership with a large housing company based in West Yorkshire we are currently recruiting for a Legal Services Officer to join their remarkably busy, and highly successful team. In this role you will ensure the effective execution and delivery of the Company’s legal work with particular emphasis on dealing with all Litigation and related matters and conduct legal proceedings brought by and against the Company, with particular emphasis on enforcement of tenancy conditions and housing disrepair

As a Legal Services Officer you will:

Assist the Litigation Team Manager and/or the Director of Legal and Governance in fulfilling the overall objectives of the team by the provision of high quality professional legal services, particularly in the areas of housing litigation.
Prepare and conduct legal proceedings brought by and against the Company and/or subsidiaries and/or any external organisations for which prior SRA waiver is granted
Advise in relation to matters of a Litigation nature including tenancy enforcement, as appropriate to the responsibilities of the post and to direct other such enquiries to the Litigation Team Manager and/or the Director of Legal and Governance
Meet client requirements consistently and on time, providing both quality of service and value for money
Work and liaise with members of the Tenancy Enforcement Team to ensure the thorough investigation and collection of evidence in cases of anti-social behaviour

The successful candidate will:

Be a Fellowship of the Institute of Legal Executives or equivalent
Have extensive experience of working in a legal practice with strong experience of housing and litigation law
Have experience of preparing cases for court – including:

Drafting witness statements, notices and documents for Court
Preparing court bundles
Instructing counsel
Acting as advocate (where applicable)

Be enthusiastic and committed to the work and the client
Be self-motivated and reliable with an appreciation of sensitivity of certain types of work and the need to maintain confidentiality

In return you will receive a salary of £34,000 - £38000 per annum, depending on experience and a superb benefits package which includes:
