We are working with a services based organisation in Birmingham and they are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join the business.
Working for a VC backed company, the FC will work closely with the CFO and MD, responsible for all financial reporting, management and control of the finance department and management reporting.
Candidates with service based experience would be of interest for this role - insurance sector, facilities management or similar based sectors. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

Working as part of the senior management team - attending monthly meetings to discuss performance of the business, overview of the financials, growth plans and strategy
Month end reporting including preparation & review of management reports for internal & external distribution
Financial KPI production & reporting, Analytical review of general ledger, monthly performance, Review of P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
Preparation & review of year end schedules to assist with the audit process and auditor liaison
Explanation of deviation to plan/forecast with proposals for corrective action
Development & monitoring of the financial KPIs of the business
Control & process responsibility for the full remit of the Finance Function, including day to day management of a team of up to 6 people, including training, appraisals and recruitment
Ownership of business reporting to strict monthly deadlines
Preparation & maintenance of the process control documentation
Cash management and reporting, cash collection, Planning & forecasting
Support for sales activity e.g. job costing work at bid stage
For this role candidates must be fully qualified ACA / CIMA/ ACCA and have proven experience within growing SME's.
Ideally candidates will have experience working for an private equity backed business, although this is not essential.
Strong MS Skills are required for the role, and experience with MS Dynamics would be a distinct advantage. Ideally candidates will have experience of system implementations and integration of new IT packages.
