Branch / Regional Manager

Working in partnership with a 
leading safety and workplace supplier, I am recruiting for a Regional Manager to manage the branch of a very successful site based in the Kent region, where you will split your time between being on site and on the road, generating and growing sales across your region.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for you to manage all branch functions, in order to achieve budgeted contribution by meeting or exceeding the requirements of their customers and through cost effective and innovative operational management. This is a key role influencing, not only the sales performance of the site but leading and developing the teams and individuals within, along with providing Service Excellence throughout.

 

Your key areas of responsibility will be:

 

·      Finance

o  Develop annual branch budget for discussion with senior management

o  Develop sales and distribution plans to achieve budget

o  Ensure that branch operational costs are maintained within budget

o  Provide regular and ad hoc sales and operation reports as requested.

 

  ·      Leadership 

   o  
Recruit, induct, train, and retain staff of the required number and calibre

   o  
Continuously assess branch and sales staff against identified performance criteria

   o  
Identify and address issues of performance and conduct within the branch and deal with these by applying company HR policies.

   o  
Ensure all training requirements are met and regularly

 

·      Operational efficiency

o  Maintain inventory in line with budget

o  Maintain fleet operations in line with legal requirements and the company EHS and transport policy

o  Manage EHS performance to minimise the company KPI’s and in line with business EHS performance targets

o  Manage workplace and equipment in line with legal requirements and the company EHS policy

o  Manage, support and coach key operational staff

 

·      Sales

o  Develop and implement sales plan that is focussed upon gaining new customers and expanding business levels with existing customers

o  Organise branch sales resources to generate sufficient sales and margin to achieve budgeted contribution

o  Project manage tender process involving all relevant areas of the business to ensure tender is financially viable and commercial risk is minimised

o  Manage, support and coach sales staff

o  Ensure that all staff are kept informed of relevant information on sales, promotional and distribution initiatives to ensure market maximisation

o  Support all areas of sales by provision of specific area sales reports on branch activities and performance.

 

·      Customer service

    o   Ensure all staff focus on the customer and find ways to meet customer needs converting business strategy into practical day to day activities
   
    o   
Instil a customer service ethic throughout the branch so that queries are dealt with efficiently.
  
    o   
Ensure customer service level meets company objectives, through measuring and taking corrective action where necessary. 

    o   
Ensure there is an active interface between telesales, sales and operations.

o  Business and Financial Understanding- need to be able to analyse business proposals to customer to ensure profitability and able to implement budgets.

 

·      QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

o  Demonstrates the ability to develop/apply KPI’s to measure and improve operational and sales performance

o  Demonstrates effective team management

o  Demonstrates successful sales experience

o  Demonstrates successful operational management experience

o  Experience of high volume, low margin distribution industry
