Job Information

My client based within the charity sector are currently recruiting for a Finance Officer to join their team and support the finance function.
 
Reporting directly into the Finance Manager the role will include:
 
- Sales ledger - raising and consolidating invoices
- Purchase ledger - obtaining authorisations, coding invoices and posting to the software
- Compiling payment rungs and setting up payments
- Setting up pre payments and accruals
- Processing company credit card and staff expenses
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Preparing and posting month end journals
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Assisting with year end audit queries
- Preparing monthly cost centre level reports
- Preparing VAT returns
- Assisting with year end
- Cashbook and banking - reconciling bank accounts and downloading bank statements
- Setting up monthly payroll and supplier payment runs
- Ad hoc banking
- Monitoring accounts emails
- Checking mail, scanning and distribute
- Order and control stationery and sundries
- Being first point of contact for other teams on finance issues
- Assisting and supporting the Finance Manager as necessary

- Strong orgnisational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and a team player
- Able to work on own initiative

Essential skills:
 
- AAT Member or equivalent
- GCSES in Maths and English
- Very strong MS Excel skills.
- Experience of finance in an SME
- Extensive use of either Sage/Zero/Quickbooks
