We are working with a growing Manufacturing business and due to continued growth; they are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join the business.

Working as part of the senior management team and supporting the Directors, the role will be responsible for the finance function, including all day to day management, implementing strong financial controls and involvement with commercial and strategic areas of the business.

This is an exciting time to join the company as it embarks on a change programme where the candidate would be instrumental in enhancing profitability, growing the business and making a tangible difference. Key duties will include;

•Responsible for the preparation of monthly accounting, including management and statutory accounts
•Preparation of the management pack / board pack; including attending and presentation of the figures to the Directors, including analysis, interpretation and commentary
•Involvement with strategy & commercial aspects of the business- formulating strategic and long-term business plans
•Managing budgets, Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends
•Commercial analysis of the business - Financial modelling and analysis, Competitor analysis, Market trends, Company performance, Profitability reporting and making recommendations
•Implementing Product Costings - drill down, reporting and making recommendations on margins, individual product lines, analysis of labour, materials, production vs cost ect
•Ensuring that appropriate financial controls and systems are implemented and maintained, making improvements and changes where necessary
•Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities, researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance
•Arranging finance packages for capital purchases
•Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation, developing external relationships with appropriate contacts i.e. solicitors, banks and statutory organizations such as HMRC
•Overseeing all day to day accounts, including management of 1 member of staff

For this role candidates will ideally be fully Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA and have proven experience within manufacturing or engineering (or similar). Candidates who are QBE (Qualified by Experience) will also be considered providing they have relevant industry experience.

It is essential that candidates have strong communication skills and are able to influence and drive change across all levels of management and the business. Candidates will need to have strong IT skills and be able to analyse and interpret financial information - strong MS Excel and ideally Sage.
