We are working on an exclusive basis with a well-established and market leading transport company, and they are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join the business.
 
Working as part of a regional team and supporting a multi-site client group of c500 employees, the focus of the role is to ensure the smooth running of the HR function and the development, implementation and monitoring of HR processes across the whole of the employment life cycle. The role will also focus on change management activities, including supporting with reorganisation and restructuring. Key duties will include;
 
-Working as part of a busy regional HR team reporting into the senior HR Business Partner
-Generalist HR role, responsible for a client group of c500 employees across 5 sites (Midlands, North-West and North region)
-Provide in-house HR advice and support, ensuring that all company policies and processes are consistently applied and that all HR queries are dealt with promptly and reliably.
-Supporting on change management activities, including restructuring, reorganisation, consultations and supporting managers and employees
-Contribute to organisational design issues e.g. ensuring efficient staff to management ratios, and ensuring that organisational structures are delivering business performance in relation to the organisation’s objectives
-Support on recruitment activities, including preparing job descriptions, job advertisements (internal and external), interviewing, offer letters, contracts of employment, contract amendments etc
-Overseeing and monitoring staff performance, career development and appraisal processes
-Provide, arrange or liaise with colleagues in respect of staff training courses,
-Resource planning, reviewing staffing needs and managing recruitment campaigns
-Supporting managers with ER matters, including investigations, capability, grievance and disciplinary matters
-Support union engagement activities, including preparation for annual union pay negotiations, consultations in respect of business reorganisations and transfers
-Contribute to reviews and application of HR policies to help ensure that these are in line with best practice and current legislation
-Deputise for the HRBP where required.
 
For this role candidates will need to have proven HR experience at this level and ideally hold or be studying towards CIPD qualification. Experience within a similar sector would be advantageous - Logistics, Transport, Rail, FMCG, Freight etc, although this is not essential. The client group is 80% blue collar and 20% white collar, so all sectors would be considered if relevant HR experience across a varied similar sized client group can be demonstrated.
 
This is supporting a regional client group and would involve 1-2 days working from home and then could be based at any of the regional offices - Midlands, North-West or Yorkshire. You would be expected to travel to the different sites as and when required, and dependent on business needs, but would manage your own diary.
