 Working in partnership with the local authority in Hartlepool, I am currently recruiting a HR Advisor for a Fixed Term Contract up to 6months to join a very busy and supportive HR team. 

As part of the Corporate Service Division, you will contribute to the provision of a professional Human Resource Service through joint working on corporate initiatives and projects.

This is an excellent opportunity, where your knowledge and experience will determine the pay and development scheme banding and the variance in complexity across the role and its responsibilities.

The successful HR Advisor will be required to:

  •       Provide efficient and effective HR Services in accordance with Council and School policies and procedures, School Service Level Agreements and key  performance indicators.
  •       Provision of case management advice relating to all aspects of employment including areas such as; pay, conditions of service, redundancy, retirement, redeployment, capability (health and performance), discipline, TUPE, grievance.
  •       Ensure the promotion of HR policies and procedures through the provision of advice and support.
  •       Contribute to policy development and assist in the formulation, development and monitoring of the operational effects of their introduction.
  •       Assist Managers and Headteachers in their operational roles through effective management of employee relations issues.
  •       Attendance at meetings, hearings, appeals, with managers, head teachers, employees, trade unions and other parties for the purpose of participating in consultation/negotiations.
  •       Support and advise Managers and Headteachers to enable the recruitment of high calibre employees following safer recruitment practices.
  •       Produce detailed reports including recommendations based on an analysis of complex and sensitive information, suitable for use at Senior Management levels.

The successful candidate should have:
  •     CIPD Level 5
  •     Recent generalist experience of HR casework
  •     Experience of planning & organising workload to meet conflicting demands
  •     Experience of the practical application of employment law
  •     The ability to demonstrate practical application of dealing with HR case management
  •     Experience of dealing with Trade Unions on employment matters
  •     Experienced in working at executive level, as well as managers and/or highly skilled professionals with the potential to take on greater responsibility
  •     Experience of working within the Public Sector, in particular; schools or local government would be highly advantageous
  •     The requirements to complete and clear a DBS check

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday but does have flexible working hours. The role currently has options around both home working and office based in line with current government guidelines.  Salary for this role will be from £27,740 to £37,800 depending on your experience
