We are assisting an established manufacturing and distribution company based in East London with the recruitment of Procurement & Supply Chain Manager.
 
This role would be ideal for an ambitious Senior Buyer looking for the next step in their career or a Procurement Manager looking for a new challenge with a growing organisation.
 
Reporting into the Operations Director and managing 2 people, the role will be responsible for managing the sourcing capabilities and supply chain for this 12m TO business. This will include leading the procurement strategy, sourcing new suppliers, negotiating with existing suppliers, reviewing current contracts and cost saving across the purchasing and supply chain function.
 
Candidates will need to have proven experience within Procurement and ideally have strong Direct purchasing experience within construction products or manufacturing, engineering, electrical or similar industries. Key duties and responsibilities will include;
 
-Report into the Operations Director and leading the procurement team (2 people), responsible for a 6/7m purchasing spend
-Lead the purchasing team in the development and implementation procurement strategies that are innovative cost-effective.
-Support with the integration of a new MRP tool (Syspro)
-Sourcing and engaging new reliable suppliers and vendors.
-Negotiating with current suppliers and vendors to secure best value terms, including reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
-Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
-Approving purchase orders and organisation of delivery of goods and services.
-Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
-Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
-Overseeing and managing the processes that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.
-Preparing procurement reports and management information
-Ensure that all orders, quotes, telephone enquiries, despatches, invoices and invoice queries are processed accurately and within agreed timescales
-Interpret demand outputs and sales trends analysis in order to ensure suitable stock cover
-Positively contribute to a safe, tidy and efficient purchasing operation
 
For this role candidate will need to have proven Purchasing and Supply Chain experience and ideally hold CIPS Qualification (Managerial or Professional).
