This is a fantastic opportunity for a Marine Claims Technician in the City of London. The role offers a base salary of up to £50,000 (negotiable) and a comprehensive benefits package that includes Private Medical Insurance (PMI), and flexible benefits.

The Role: Primary Purpose and Key Accountabilities
As a Marine Claims Technician, you will be a crucial part of the team, responsible for the professional and efficient handling of marine cargo and marine liability claims for clients in the UK and Ireland. Your primary goal is to ensure client satisfaction and retention by effectively managing claims, preventing unjustified payments, and avoiding litigation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Claims Handling and Administration: You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of claims, including accurate financial and administrative processing within the Claims Management System and maintaining an effective e-filing system.
- Recoveries: You will actively pursue recoveries against subcontractors to mitigate losses.
- Reporting: You will provide transparent claim statistics and regular reports to national and regional management on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Operational Compliance: You will ensure all claims are processed in strict accordance with the Claims Centre's operating procedures.
- Strategic Support: You will assist with contract reviews related to marine liability and insurance requirements and provide training on marine cargo insurance, transport law, and marine liability to branch teams.
- Performance and Improvement: You will comply with key performance indicators (KPIs) and internal disciplines, continually reviewing and proposing improvements to existing processes.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a relevant role within the insurance or claims sector.
