Due to strong property volumes and a highly financial-services-focused culture, our client is seeking an ambitious Mortgage Advisor or Mortgage Broker to join their Preston operation, offering genuine high earnings, strong lead flow, and long-term career progression.

Role Overview – Preston (Hybrid Mortgage Advisor Role)

This is a branch-centric Hybrid Mortgage Advisor role based in a city-centre Preston estate agency office. While hybrid working is available, the successful Mortgage Advisor or Mortgage Broker will be expected to work from the Preston branch 3–4 days per week initially to build rapport, trust, and strong working relationships with negotiators and management.

The Preston branch operates in a high-activity city-centre location, generating a consistent flow of mortgage opportunities across a wide range of property types.

• Average property values: £190,000

• Properties regularly exceeding: £1,200,000

• Average case size: Circa £1,800

• Mortgage appointments: 20–25 per month

• Mortgage sign-ups: 8–10 per month

• Protection conversion: 70%+

A proactive Mortgage Advisor embedded within this financially focused Preston team can realistically bank £15,000–£18,000 per month in proc fees, broker fees, and protection income, delivering high earnings comfortably in excess of £75,000.

In addition to Preston-generated business, the Mortgage Broker will also benefit from overflow and referral leads from other high-performing estate agency branches across the wider region.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate as a Mortgage Advisor working on a hybrid basis with a strong office presence in Preston

• Provide whole-of-market mortgage and protection advice as a Mortgage Broker

• Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and virtual mortgage appointments

• Convert 5–8 qualified estate-agency-generated leads per week

• Consistently sign up 8–10 mortgages per month

• Build and grow a substantial mortgage desk with a long-term high earnings focus

• Develop strong, trusted relationships with branch managers and sales negotiators

• Maintain FCA-compliant advice standards and excellent client outcomes

• Manage pipeline efficiently to drive consistent performance and high earnings

Employed Mortgage Advisor Option

• Basic salary up to £35,000 (including car allowance)

• Monthly bonuses and uncapped commission

• Unvalidated commission structure

• Commission splits ranging from 5% to 32%

Skills & Experience Required

• Fully CeMAP qualified (or equivalent)

• Competent Adviser Status (CAS)

• Proven experience as a Mortgage Advisor or Mortgage Broker

• Estate agency or introducer-led background preferred

• Strong knowledge of residential mortgages and protection products

• Commercially driven, relationship-focused mindset

• Comfortable working in-branch to build rapport and team relationships

• Professional, confident, and client-centric approach

• Clean regulatory and credit history

• Living within a commutable distance of Preston
