The Opportunity

Working closely with a team of experienced Mortgage & Protection Advisors, the successful Will & Estate Planner will provide holistic estate planning advice to clients generated through new hot leads.

You will operate on a hybrid basis – 2–3 days in the Southend-on-Sea office with the remainder working remotely or conducting client consultations (including home visits where appropriate).

With a basic salary up to £30,000 and a realistic OTE of £70,000+, this role offers genuine high earnings potential within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities – Will & Estate Planner

As a professional Will & Estate Planner, your responsibilities will include:

• Client Consultation: Conducting detailed, in-depth interviews (including home visits where appropriate) to fully understand clients’ family dynamics, financial positions, asset structures, and long-term objectives.

• Will & Trust Drafting: Creating legally compliant and professionally structured Wills and Trusts to protect wealth and ensure effective estate distribution.

• Legal Documentation: Preparing and advising on Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), Advance Directives, and related estate planning documentation.

• Tax Planning & Advice: Providing tailored strategies for inheritance tax mitigation, asset protection, and wealth preservation.

• Long-Term Care Planning: Advising clients in Southend-on-Sea and surrounding areas on protecting property and assets from future care fee exposure.

• Proactive Estate Structuring: Recommending lifetime gifting strategies, trust planning solutions, and wealth transfer frameworks.

• Cross-Referral Collaboration: Working alongside Mortgage Advisors and Protection Specialists to deliver a fully holistic financial planning service.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications

To be considered for this Will & Estate Planner role in Southend-on-Sea, you should demonstrate:

Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of inheritance tax planning, asset protection strategies, and wealth transfer planning.

• Experience drafting Wills, Trusts, and LPAs to a high professional standard.

Professional Qualifications

• Ideally qualified or affiliated with professional bodies such as:

o Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP)

o Institute of Professional Willwriters (IPW)

• Equivalent estate planning qualifications will also be considered.
