Job Information

Cameron James Professional Recruitment is working with a national not-for-profit organisation who are looking to appoint a Human Resources Advisor for an initial fixed term of 3 months. The HR Advisor will support the wider HR Team to deliver a full range of HR services to Operational Managers and with the Human Resources Manager to ensure that the company remains compliant with all statutory employment and HR legislation

Responsibilities:
• To provide advice, guidance and assistance to managers relating to employment matters, performance management and the resolution of routine issues
• To provide advice and guidance on the interpretation and application of organisational policies and procedures
• To develop and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with managers and employees, demonstrating professional credibility at all times and providing an excellent HR service to the organisation.
• To support the HR Manager in coaching and influencing managers from a people perspective, developing their people management / leadership skills and constructively challenging inappropriate behaviours / actions.
• To support operational managers at disciplinary and grievance hearings as required
• To monitor sickness absence and support operational managers in the application of the company’s absence management procedures
• Participate in the recruitment process, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements
• Update and maintain data within the HR Information System
• Prepare management reports and discussion papers as required
• Undertake project work as required
• To undertake, from time to time, any other duties appropriate to the post as agreed with the Human Resources Manager
• Comply with organisational policies and procedures at all times
• To comply with responsibilities arising from Health and Safety at Work legislation
• To respect and adhere to the policies of Confidentiality and Data Protection

Person Specification:
• CIPD Qualified or equivalent
• GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
• At least two years post qualification experience gained in a generalist HR role
• Detailed and up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation
• Work effectively with colleagues throughout the organisation
• Negotiate, persuade and influence a range of colleagues
• Work on own initiative and be self-motivated
• Identify and meet work objectives and work to agreed deadlines
• Communication and presentation skills which are effective at all levels within the Organisation
• Use IT to communicate and process information (e-mail, word processing, Excel)
