Cameron James Professional Recruitment is working with a national Transport company who are looking to appoint a Part Time HR Assistant within the HR Team. The HR Assistant will support the delivery of the HR strategy and ensure a seamless, customer focused HR service, specifically in relation to Organisational Development. This role is for 22.5 hours per week : flexible.

Responsibilities:
• Co-ordination and communication of workload with the other HR Assistants to ensure an efficient HR service for customers, including providing back up cover for other HR Assistants.
• Arrange and co-ordinate in-house and external learning activities for employees, including researching and suggesting learning solutions.
• Assist in the development and facilitation of internal learning and development activities. Co-ordinate the payment of invoices for expenditure on the HR budget, specifically for Learning and Development and Occupational Health.
• To assist in the monitoring and evaluation the effectiveness of all learning and development activities to ensure Metro receives a return on its investment.
• Maintaining the HR records of all Metro employees, using the HR Database and information files. Extracting information from the HR Database for use in compiling reports and assisting in the development and improvement of the systems.
• Responsible for accurately updating, recalculating and adjusting employee time and attendance records and maintaining an audit trail.
• Assisting in version control of HR Policies including computerised and manual filing systems and maintaining the integrity of the Policies section of the Intranet.
• Provide support and guidance on HR policies in response to queries from employees and managers.
• Research HR best practice and policy as required.
• To assist line management with ad-hoc reports and projects where appropriate.
• Case management of standard employee issues as required.

Person Specification
• Experience of working in a HR environment
• Experience of using HR Database
• Demonstrates a supportive attitude in assisting others in achieving their results
• Experience of adapting to rapidly changing situations and priorities and is able to cope with unclear situations
• Experience of maintaining record systems (manual and electronic)
• Strives for self-enhancement and recommends training and development actions
• Competent user of Microsoft Office
• Must have Grade C GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
