Buyer - Building Products Sector

Our client is a multi award-winning market leading company, who supply products into the building sector. They possess a solid reputation based on the research, development and production of innovative materials for use with the sector.

Due to constant innovation and expansion, they are looking to appoint a Buyer to help professionalise their inbound supply management.

Summary of Responsibilities:
• To act as a key line of communication with all suppliers, liaising upon day to day issues, products, and delivery information.
• Assist in administrative activities such as analysing suppliers, negotiating effectively, raising purchase orders, dealing with invoices and pricing queries
• Obtaining best prices for bespoke and stock items from suppliers
• Liaise with suppliers to achieve required standards of quality, availability and profitability.
• To build and maintain relationships with suppliers, and deal with all admin involved in the order process.
• Negotiate trading terms and agreements with vendors under direction
• Support the Operations Manager, and coordinate between them and internal departments of the business. Liaise with all internal departments and suppliers to ensure effective and dynamic Supply Chain Management.
• Ensure the Buying function offers the best possible service to the business in terms of quality and price requirements.
• Identify and propose where potential savings can be made to generate revenue or reduce expenditure.

Specific Experience Required:
• 5 years’ experience within a Buyers role, specifically experienced in sourcing, supplier evaluation and negotiating price
• Competent I.T skills to administer the bespoke procurement system
• We’d prefer candidates to have some market experience of the building/building products sector.
